Green belt development & social forestry

Plantation drives inside the plant before the monsoon to enhance the greenery inside the plant is done on regular basis. Plantation of saplings along the approach road and inside the vacant spaces in the colony is also done. We have also approached the District Forest officer, Bokaro for plant saplings and Afforestation programmes in collaboration with TTPS by providing them with the necessary financial support. TTPS has also planned to develop three tier plantation system along the road side used for ash transportation and all along the ash pond. To attract public participation in environment protection we are encouraging social forestry schemes.

Training and awareness programmes

TVNL is actively organizing training programmes with the involvement of root level workers inside the plant on regular basis to make them aware about saving water, energy and planting trees in their locality. We are also involving locals in the nearby areas on world environment day and organize rallies starting from the colony to the main gate of the plant and spread awareness on protection of environment and other natural resources.
