Tenughat Vidyut Nigam Limited (A Government of Jharkhand undertaking) is a power generating company incorporated on 26.11.1987 under Companies Act, 1956.

Our first unit was put in commercial operation in September 1996 and Second Unit in September 1997. Existing units are performing well above the national standard. Beside fulfilling the power requirement of Jharkhand we also have enriched in several dimensions viz local welfare, cultural welfare, biodiversity conservation.

I am glad to share that GoJ has approved for extending our production capacity from existing 2X210 MW to 2X610 which will also serve the power requirement of the neighboring state as well.

We are responsible miners & environmental friendly power generators, all our business activities center around people, planet and profit. We will do our best but not at the cost of people and planet.

We plan to achieve our aim of to being among the Best 25 Power Plant in India with a mission of :

•  Generation of Electricity.


•  Eco Conservation and Afforestation.


•  Social and economic upliftment of the area.


•  To provide quality energy at a cheaper rate and to create the balance between economy & social Development.
